Southern Africa is regarded as one of the most exciting destinations for outdoor activities like hiking, walking and mountain biking. The sheer natural beauty, together with scenic mountain ranges, canyons and veld, make for some amazing and rewarding outdoor adventures. There are many fascinating - and challenging - hiking and mountain biking trails throughout the country, all of which are unique to the diversity of the area. In Mpumalanga there are hikes that go along the edge of the escarpment like the trail at the Blyde River Canyon, while in Gauteng you can hike through the Magaliesberg Mountains. The incredible Drakensberg Mountain Range in KwaZulu-Natal is the venue for some of the most spectacular hikes in the world, such as the Giants Cup Hiking Trail, while in the Eatsern Cape there are lush trails that go through forests and along rivers and lakes. In the Nortern Cape there are dry, almost desert-like trails that are a real test of stamina, as are the trails through the Namib Desert . So lace up your boots, oil your chain and get ready for a great adventure!

By no means exhaustive, these highlights can help you plan your special trip to the southern tip of Africa.
